Yesterday i brought my vehicle in for a transmission fluid flush and to have my wiper blades replaced. I anticipated there may be a few additional preventative maintenance jobs I may need performed since my car is a 2002 Sonata. I was informed that I need a coolant flush and my rear brakes serviced. Since it is important to me that I keep my car in good shape I was completely fine with paying for these additional services. Then I was informed that there was a recall on several items on my car and that my subframe needed to be replaced.

While I was not expecting this type of work needing ot be done I was provided a rental and still happy with the level of customer service I received. Then this morning I was called and informed my window would not go up after a subsequent inspection and that I would need to pay for a new regulator. There was no mention of this while I was at Hyundai when they informed me that I needed a brake service and coolant flush as well. My window worked fine yesterday. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I park my vehicle outdoors overnight and would have had to have the window serviced right away if it would not close. I was told that the handles of my doors were recalled also... could my window have been damaged when this service was being performed? When I asked to speak with the customer service manager I was told that it was unfortunate that the window regulator broke while the car was being serviced but that it was going to happen anyways. When they called me at 7:30am to tell me about the broken window it was pouring rain. Of course I was compelled to okay the repair. I am extremely disappointed I have to pay an extra $158 for something that was working fine when I entrusted the car of my auto to your technicians yesterday.

I drive a Hyundai, my parents have a 2004 Sante Fe, and my brother drives a 2006 Sonata all purchased from Family Hyundai. It was on my recommendation that they all purchased Hyundais after I convinced them of their excellent warranty and customer service. They all have their vehicles serviced there as well. The service rep then gave me a discount on the part, but we all know that the labor is what costs the most anyways. I would have had no problem paying for the part since I was leaving with a new part in my car but I don't think I should have had to pay for the labor since the part did not break while I had possession of my vehicle.

I am impressed with the changes the service department has made in order to be more accessible to customers. It is much easier to get an appointment now and Tom Salin was extremely helpful. But with this window issue I don't think i will be returning to Hyundai for service and I will be rethinking buying a new Sonata in the future.

The service process I went through last week exceeded my expectations greatly. I came in for a quick checkup because I had hit a tire on 294 and the group put my car on the lift and checked it all. Updated the software due to an upgrade from Hyundai and washed and vacuumed the car. I was very impressed.
